I want to give you the gift that my aunt gave to me... Permission to dream!
My aunt had the most loving conversation with me a couple weeks ago. She said to me, "You have been in survival mode for too long. You need to let yourself dream again." I hadn't even realized I had stopped! Ya know what I did with that? ...
I started thinking about all my childhood dreams and I wondered where the doubt came in. When did I stop believing I was good at things I love? And I started making art again. I am putting it up for people to see today! More importantly, I'm enjoying expressing myself with paint and power tools. :)
I hope that you haven't stopped dreaming. And if you have I give you permission to dream again! Play, make a mess, and let people see. Put your heart out there again. And if you fall on your face (and we will see if that is my fate) laugh at yourself. Hey, at least we tried something! How else do you succeed?
